The Law or JESUS

'' Indeed we are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners as they are called.
Yet we know that a person is put right with God only through faith in Jesus Christ never by doing what the Law requires." (Galatians 2:15-16)

I was thinking on that one.
And there was another verse I was confused about, when this verse suddenly connected with that one:

"If I start to rebuild the system of the law that I tore down, then I show myself to be someone who breaks the law.  So far as the law is concerned, however, I am dead  -- killed by the law itself -- in order that I might live for God."
(Galatians 2:18-19)

Wow! think through that!

So the law doesn't make us right with God, but the purpose of the law is "kill us" so that we can "live for God" through "faith in Jesus"!

  1. Wow, Aletheia! Such good thinking for one so young! And yes -- that is it exactly. The law was "killing" the Jewish people who lived under it, so that "in the fullness of time" Jesus could come to set them free! Thank God for His freedom in Christ!! I love you!
