MESSES

I now have two artists to room with . And it doesn't make it any fun when those two artists don't pick up after themselves.

Artists by the names of Charity and Patience.

So I walk in one day and they are cutting, coloring, and drawing.
I said ''you girls had better pick that up after you're finished." I don't know if they even heard me because just a few seconds later they put down their stuff and ran out of the room.  I was surprised so I called to them, but they didn't clean it up, so I just cleaned it up myself.

I had to clean up the room myself many times that week. Sometimes mom made the girls
clean up, but mostly I did .

Anyway I was so worried about getting everything done.
One evening I looked at the sunset and I thought, "never be too busy in life to notice the sunset."

Never be too caught up in life to notice the sunset.

The Lost is Found

"Stay on the path," Daddy warned us all as we started to skip ahead on the path at Elephant Rocks.  And with that warning ringing in our heads, we started to climb a rock that was on the side of the path.  Then we got down and hid in the brush and waited for the adults to come along so that we could jump out and surprise them.  The adults were slow in coming and when they did come, they wanted to do a headcount so we lined up and they found that one was missing.  And that one was Patience.  We didn't dare go any  further without her.  We started looking and calling and looking and calling and looking and calling  . . . and finally we found her in the cleft of a rock near the parking lot.  "I thought there were some child-stealers," she said tearfully, "and so I hid right here."

Well, that was an adventure!  We need God to help us to stay on the path.

Beautiful Red Petals

This is a poem that I made up:

In a world of beautiful red petals I look up from chalk and smell the sweet fragrance
 . . . of roses.
With leaves of deep green, I pause and smell and wonder.
It reminds me of a house with a rose bush from which I picked petals,
the day we were to move.
It's been three years, but still the fragrance comes back from those same petals.
It's a moment of wonder, a moment of thanks to God.
I still have those rose petals, dry and crusty with age, in a box where I keep my special things.
The beautiful red petals . . . the very same beautiful red petals.

The Law or JESUS

'' Indeed we are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners as they are called.
Yet we know that a person is put right with God only through faith in Jesus Christ never by doing what the Law requires." (Galatians 2:15-16)

I was thinking on that one.
And there was another verse I was confused about, when this verse suddenly connected with that one:

"If I start to rebuild the system of the law that I tore down, then I show myself to be someone who breaks the law.  So far as the law is concerned, however, I am dead  -- killed by the law itself -- in order that I might live for God."
(Galatians 2:18-19)

Wow! think through that!

So the law doesn't make us right with God, but the purpose of the law is "kill us" so that we can "live for God" through "faith in Jesus"!

Saved From the Waters

I want to tell you a story. A story about how God saved my brother Arrow's life. Well, when we lived in New York we would go quite often to camp to swim. The rule was ''don't go to the end of the dock without a life jacket''. One day we were fishing with our friends the Wilmers and Arrow was splashing a little fishing pole into the water without a line on it.
And he didn't have a life jacket on.
All of the sudden, Noah heard a splash to his right. And he thought Arrow had caught a big fish. He turned around to congragulate him -- but he was gone!
''Daaady, Daaaaaady,'' called Noah and our friend Kiersten.
But our dad was talking and he didn't hear us. Noah and Kiersten ran up the hill shouting and screaming!
With one look dad understood what happened. He was in his nice clothes but that didn't matter then. He came running down the hill, jumped off the end of the dock, grabbed Arrow, and put him on a campchair wrapped in a towel.
He sat there as if nothing had happened, but I know something happened that day. What? A miracle!

P.S Arrow was much younger when that happened. He was about 2 years old.

Beautifully and Wonderfully Made

When Jireh was born he was very small and  dependent.

All babies are dependent.  On what ?

On their Mamas to feed them, change their diapers,
put them to sleep, and comfort them when they're sad.

They can't even live without their Mamas (unless they are adopted by someone else who will care for them).

It's the same way with us. If God weren't here, we'd not be alive right now.

We are each beautifully and wonderfully made. Because each of us came from the hand of God! Think about it. He formed us in the womb. God ! It's a wonder we're even alive!

Wow! that's something to think about!!!
